X (pseudonym) is a B2B SaaS consulting firm that focuses on helping organizations prevent workplace sexual harassment. It collects data, anonymously, from company personnel which involves surveys or feedbacks reports to understand the dynamics within the organization. It utilizes this data to create an action plan, and complements it with a virtual classroom, offering the necessary courses to train employees.
My Project
My project was primarily centered around honing the efficacy of communication channels for reporting sexual harassment and distributing the sexual harassment policy. This involved conducting a detailed analysis of employee and organizational surveys provided by X through benchmarking and statistical methods. My overarching goal was to offer X recommendations on best practices to enhance policy accessibility via various communication channels and optimizing communication for investigative procedures.
Benchmarking


Chi-Square Analysis
I observed the dependency between awareness of sexual harassment policy and the 4 channels of communication that the organizations used, which were physical distribution, email distribution, web portal distribution and distribution during induction process.

I also analyzed the dependency between the communication channels and awareness of sexual harassment reporting channel in these organizations.

Through chi-square analysis, I was able to determine the following:

Lesser number of employees are reviewing the sexual harassment policy when distributed via email.

Through physical channels, employees are 14.5% more likely to be aware and review the policy.

Through web portal or intranet, employees are 9.5% more likely to be aware and review the policy.

Through personnel induction process, employees are 7% more likely to be aware and review the policy.
-
Personnel induction process is the only communication channel that significantly impacts employee awareness of sexual harassment reporting channel.
